Bimetal Thermometer<\/strong> is a reliable and accurate sensor, ideal for local temperature readings in most process applications. It can be recalibrated with a turn of the calibration screw on the back of the dial. A variety of options are available for any process needs.<\/p>\n

Bimetal Thermometer is called so because there are two pieces of metal inside the shaft.\u00a0Temperatures can be meassured based on the principle of different thermal expansion of solids.<\/p>\n

For this purpose, two metal strips (e.g. steel and brass) with different degrees of thermal expansion are firmly joined together.\u00a0When heated, the metal strip deforms due to the different degrees of expansion.<\/p>\n

The deformation is a measure of the temperature and can be read off a calibrated scale.\u00a0Due to their metallic materials, bimetallic thermometers can be used at temperatures from below -100 \u00b0C to more than 500 \u00b0C.<\/p>\n

These thermometers come in different face and stem sizes. The one that is best for you will depend on the visual and space requirements you have for your particular project. For instance, we offer 2.5\u2033 to 5\u2033 dial sizes and stem lenghts from 2.5\u2033 to 24\u2033.<\/p>\n
